Doctor Strange 2’s Xochitl Gomez talks about bonding with other MCU actresses

The Marvel Cinematic Universe continues to grow, as a number of beloved Marvel Comics characters are brought to life on screen. In the fourth phase, this particularly included a lot of female characters, as new actresses were brought into the fold to play the role of heroes or anti-heroes. This recently included Xochitl Gomez’s stand against America’s Chavez, who debuted this year Doctor Strange in a multiverse of madness It soon became a fan favorite. Gomez has already been candid about how the Marvel community made her feel welcome, with co-star Elizabeth Olsen giving her some top tips on joining the franchise. In a recent interview with the Phase Zero Podcast on ComicBook.com to celebrate The multiverse of madnessAt home, Gomez spoke about this feeling of support from other Marvel women — and how she’s also connected to Fellaini’s faith and some of the other stars in Marvel. Mrs. Marvell.

“Yeah! I mean, there’s a lot of acting for upcoming women, especially with Iman,” Gomez explained in our interview, which you can check out above. “It’s kind of a bond that I think is very important, especially because we grew up watching Chris Hemsworth and Chris Evans, and you’re watching this dynamic and wanting to be part of that group of people. And what was really important to me to create that bond, especially with Girls. So, I had lunch with Iman, and stopped with Jasmine [Fletcher] Laurel [Marsden] who are in Mrs. Marvell. And just talking to them is, in fact, just sharing experiences – because being on a Marvel project isn’t the same as working on any project, and just being in the public eye is really hard. So, just being there for each other, as well as letting each other know we can have fun, we can laugh and be there for each other. I think that’s really important, especially in the Marvel women’s group.”

While America’s appearance in another MCU project hasn’t been confirmed, there’s definitely a hype to see it on screen — something Gomez is excited to explore further.

“Yeah! I mean, I haven’t been told anything yet,” Gomez explained elsewhere in our interview. “But obviously there is a lot to America. I think we just saw a brief introduction to America, and I’m so proud of how it’s received and that people love it and want to see more of it. And that just really warms my heart, because I feel like it had a lot of backstory waiting to be done. Kind of telling her, and she has more to discover about herself and her powers, her mothers of course, and all of that. I think there is.”
